Anyone who has known me for a while knows what a big fan of Ben Folds’ music I am. So I figured, since I have some space on the web, I’d promote Ben’s newest CD, Songs For Silverman.

That’s the cover of the new album.
And here comes the promotion part…
Here’s me doing a pretty shitty impression of the album cover.

There. Free press, on a rarely travelled website. Enjoy.
Good news, everyone!
Finally, after much debate, I have decided to get interweb access for mine houseth…
Uh, I’m getting the internet at home. My cable company has a good deal going, so I’m going to sign up for it. That means I won’t have an excuse not to write a post every day. Hooray!
In Other News…
Well, I finally decided to get enough balls to ask out a girl (a co-worker). Well, things went well. She said, “yes.” So I finally got my one yes for my fifty no’s. Well, I called to set up a date for this weekend. Turns out she dated a co-worker last year, and things didn’t turn out well. Not well at all. Not well enough to put her off of dating coworkers. However, to save me embarassment, she told me that she didn’t want to say “no” to me in front of other co-workers. I told her that I really respected her for that (I really did, and still do). She also said that she would like to get to know me and would like to hang out whenever our co-workers go out to happy hour sometime.
So, my one yes for fifty no’s turned out to be a no, anyway.
I’m okay with that though. She was very polite and respectful about it. Plus, I have at least made a new friend out of the deal. Not too bad for one week’s work.
Whelp… For the better part of two years, my parents have been trying to sell their house. They bought a trailer across the road. Since there’s only two of them, that’s all they need. They were renting the house out to a young couple who were friends of their’s.
It turns out that the people living here didn’t really want them to sell the house, for some odd reason. Whenever prospective buyers came by, the house was never cleaned. In fact, it was downright dirty. Anyone slightly interested quickly lost interest. The tenants even went as far as to discredit any good points brought up.
It’s not a bad house, really. If I could afford it (and if it were a little closer to work), I’d buy it.
So anyway, in the past two years, the tenants have slowly been building their own house. Just a few short months ago, they moved out, and my parents decided, “Since there’s no point in living in a trailer if we have a house, we should move back in, and we’ll rent out the trailer.”
You know what my parents did?
Since there was no point in living in a trailer, since they had a house, they moved back in, and rented out the trailer.
One month later, since my parents were still contractually obligated with a realtor, they allowed people to come and look at the house, after doing a nice, spiffy, clean up job.
Every person who looked at the house decided that they seriously wanted it, and made a serious offer. The only problem, now, was that my mother loved the house so much, she decided she wouldn’t take anything below asking price (which I’m not sure if I could mention here… don’t want to get in trouble, ya know ^_^). Anyway, that asking price was pretty high.
Finally, my mother came to her senses and realized why she was trying to sell the house. The mortgage payment was ridiculously high, and she just couldn’t afford it.
A nice, young couple came by to look at the house. Friends of the family. Apparently, people I went to grade school with (although I don’t remember them). My parents decided to sell the house to them for a lower asking price.
So, I’ve spent this past weekend helping my parents get ready to move, taking care of things that need to be taken care of…
Just doesn’t seem fair, ya know? Been back in the big, beautiful house for two months, and now it’s all going away again. My parents are moving in with my step-father’s father. After a few months, they’re going to try to find a new apartment for the tenants currently living in their trailer, then move back in there. With the money from the house, my parents are going to pay off the trailer and start working on major improvements to it. Adding rooms, making rooms bigger, so that real appliances can go in there.
Well, that’s the tale of woe and dread for the week. Dunno if I’ll be able to post next week or not, seeing as my parents won’t be here much longer. Guess I’ll actually have to get the internet at home…. then I won’t have an excuse not to write.
Kidding! Kidding! I really do enjoy writing. I’ll try to get something up next weekend.
Like NBC says, if you haven’t seen it, it’s new to you. Last year around this time, Ryan and I went to see a movie. You can read the full article here.
Here’s a clip:
Man, oh man. What a day. That Ryan Markle.
Here’s the setup. A few weeks back, I went to Buffalo to hang out with Ryan, for several reasons.
1. Ryan Was testing for his black belt in Kung Fu
2. The Greater Buffalo area has an IMAX theater, which was running the smash hit NASCAR 3D: The IMAX Experience.
Wow. That’s a lot of capitalization. Why didn’t I use the caps lock? Anyway, Ryan sent me an email with a Bio suggestion. A review of the movie. So, Ryan reviewed it, and um, I’m just gonna’ comment on it, left brain/right brain style. Plus, I just realized that if you say “smash hit” really fast, it sounds like your saying “Shit.”
Heh heh. Shit.
Well, let’s give it a try. I haven’t really got much to say except that I’m writing in my new blog. That’s about it. Oh, also, feel free to check out the new Ben Folds Video, “Landed” at the suburbs. That’s about it. *Smile Smile!*
Okay. I’ll try again next week.
